Follow Your Calling, Find Your Light

Even though I had already been doing plant medicine ceremonies for many months with one of my first shaman mentors, WillemWout, I had never thought of training with the shamans of old, of going on a path of shamanism. And even when I received that vision, I didn’t have those thoughts. All I felt was a deep calling inside of me – I KNEW this was right.

Follow Your Calling, Find Your Light

I am proud to be a carrier of this mesa.

Today, a little over four years ago, I received one of the clearest visions that I had ever received in my life, and today, I believe it was brought to me by the Great Spirit.

I was sitting alone, on my bed with my eyes closed in deep meditation. Just being silent; just breathing. And then out of nowhere, I got this very clear vision: I saw a Google search bar and in it there were words being typed: “Light Body School.” I didn’t know what the Light Body School was.

I’d never heard of it. So I opened up my laptop and I Googled “Light Body School.” The Light Body School was founded by Dr. Alberto Villoldo many years ago with the mission of bringing the knowledge, initiations, wisdom, and traditions of the Q’ero shamans to the Western World.

I had been living for many, many years in synchronicity. Living with the belief that when synchronicities occur – when life presents us something, we might say “yes” or “no,” but we can’t really say “no.” We can only follow along the path with trust and allowing ourselves to be guided.

So there came a point when I decided to leave my family for an entire month to study with Alberto Villoldo and the Q’ero shamans, which has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.

For today, for 2021, for your life – let this be a reminder that when something in life calls upon you, just follow the calling. You can search endlessly for what it means, but that answer is only found after following that calling. Life usually doesn’t present you with more than the first step. And that first step that calls to you – this should always be enough to say “yes.”

Simply decide – make the decision to be quiet more often. To become still. To find joy in the moment. Don’t search for a calling. But DO decide that when it’s there, the simple feeling – the simple reminder of something – just proceed and follow. That is also where the joy of life is found.

I’m a very proud carrier of this mesa – this medicine bag.

Proud to call myself a “medicine man.”

Proud to be reconnected to the traditions, the initiations, the wisdom of the Q’ero shamans. To have received their initiations and rites of the Munay-Ki.

Proud to be bringing a tradition that was founded many thousands of years ago, that has been carried by the medicine men and women over the years. A tradition that’s been more than just carried – it’s been protected. It’s been passed on from generation to generation. I’m very proud to bring this tradition to the Western World.

The last four years that I’ve been on this path, it has been a path of remembering:

Remembering who I am.

Remembering what it means to be the light and bring the light.

And as abstract as this may sound, so much of our life is about finding that light inside of us – that love, that spark of joy where we feel whole and feel that light within us – and bringing that to the people around us.

Today, I hope that you discover the simplicity in finding your light: just being OK with who you are and accepting who you are. Finding that light within yourself and then deciding to BE the light – deciding to BE enlightened.

It is found in your breath; it is found in the moment. It is found in making the decision to bring the light to the people around you, bringing them your love, your joy, your light. Hold them tight; hold them close.

Even though the Q’ero shamans don’t celebrate Christmas – it’s not their religion – bringing the light is so much of what Christmas is about in the Western society and culture.

My prayer – my dream – for you and humanity today is to bring that light: to be a proud carrier of that light in YOUR heart. I reach out to you through this channel and I bring you my love. I hope you will be sharing yours with the world. Many blessings to you – much love and Merry Christmas.

Thank you Alberto Villoldo. Thank you WillemWout. Thank you Amina. Thank you Txana Ikakuru. Thank you Txana Tuwe. Thank you Huni Kuin familia, Haux Haux. Muchos gracias Q’ero shamans. Thank you Mother Earth. Thank you Great Spirit. Thank you Shamans of old.
